TOOL
Clear Promotion Structures
Harvard Business Review notes that the promotion process can have a large impact on company culture. In fact, in their survey of 400,000 US-based workers, HBR found that employees are twice as likely to plan a long-term future with an organization if they believe promotions are managed effectively (How You Promote People Can Make or Break Company Culture). In addition to the positive impact on employee retention, clear promotion structures are also a tool to increase equity for marginalized groups.
